Lee Kennedy’s 2022 release Hallelujah is a powerfully anointed worship song about our broken humanity and God’s goodness and willingness to intervene on our behalf. The melodies that Lee has chosen beautifully encapsulate both a heart crying out to be transformed as well as the gratitude expressed in the depths of worship. The song is dripping with honesty, and testifies to the struggle we all face to become better people. Despite our attempts, only God can do the work of sanctification inside of us as we continuously surrender to Him and know Him more. I believe that anyone who listens to this song will grasp Lee’s weighty conviction that despite our frail humanity, God’s power in our lives causes us to fall on our knees in worship, saying Hallelujah!
